If we learnt one thing today it's that Abu Dhabi 21 is still very present.

Every controversial title decider, every safety car at the end of a race will remind the FIA of how they robbed Lewis Hamilton off his 8th championship.
So I'm confused, why can the rules be followed today but they couldn't be followed in Abu Dhabi? @fia please tell us

“The FIA should follow the rules.”

*FIA follows the rules*
“NO NOT WHEN MAX IS WINNING.”
FIA completely butchering that SC procedure and killing the race. Unsafe, too slow, should have just Red Flagged the session.

The boos are more than deserved. #ItalianGP
Today proved that the FIA knows their rules. They just chose not to apply them at AD 2021.

if leclerc was leading and verstappen was p2 they would have red flagged this immediately

Sebastian Vettel used to get booed a lot, and then he stopped winning all the races and all was forgiven. This type of booing is a backhanded compliment to Max Verstappen and Red Bull #ItalianGP

Verstappen and Red Bull are on another level right now Incredible the title could be clinched in Singapore.

And what a debut for de Vries! Get that man a 2023 seat #F1 #ItalianGP
verstappen fans didn’t boo leclerc when he won the austrian gp, funny that

Honestly wowed at how lucky Verstappen is. The rules were broken to gift him a championship and when the rules are actually followed correctly as a reaction against what he got he benefits from it too. Seldom seen a driver get to have his cake and eat it too so frequently.

races only finish under safety car when verstappen is leading
— angharad (@angha) September 11, 2022
Verstappen booed after winning the race fair and square

He officially is one of the all-time greats
Nyck de Vries outscored Russell's first 2 years at Williams in a single race. Yet I'm supposed to believe George is generational and Nyck is mid

Lets face it nyck de vries is doing a stellar job considering it’s literally his first gp that he got thrown on short notice

Take a bow Nyck de Vries. Raced beautifully in a car he barely knew. Took the fight to those around him, defended brilliantly and scores points on debut.

Has to be front of the queue for an F1 seat that’s long past due.
Took one race for De Vries to get ahead of Latifi in the championship
